The 89 through 95 Thunderbird SC's will be one of the most collectable cars out there in a few years. They are very limitted production cars in every year. Some years more then others. Plus, these cars were driven and junked right along with the other Thunderbirds such as the LX and Sport Models. Most people out there couldn't tell the difference between the SC and the LX. The body styles are nearly identical and there are only a few indicators that the car is actually a SC. It is becoming more and more unusual to see a SC on the street anymore. Why? Because there just isn't many left out there. I am really curious to know exactly how many of these modern muscle cars are actually left. I would bet that there aren't many. And even fewer that are in original condition. If you are lucky enough to have one that is, I highly suggest that you hang onto it for a few more years. When people wake up and see that these cars are truly very rare, the price on them is gonna take off.

The last of the GM G-Platform models such as the Monte Carlo SS, Buick Grand National, and Olds 4-4-2. Especially the Buick GNX and Monte Carlo SS Aero coupes, since so few of them were produced. I think the last one rolled off the assembly line in December '87. The pace car replicas from the Indianapolis 500 may be collectible. The '86 Corvette pace car replica was the first drop top Vette since '75. Ford F150 Lightning and Chevy 454SS pick-up.

My list:

1990-1992 VW GTi 16v version
1984-1992 BMW E30 all variants
1990-1991 Honda Si Hatchback
1992-1995 Honda Si Hatchback
1992-1993 Acura GSR Integra
1989-1991 Honda Prelude
1988-1994.5 Toyota 4WD pickups with the 22RE (Sorry the 3.0 V6 is junk)

Some of these cars are already hard to find in unmolested condition. If the rust did not get them the ricer craze did.

Cars around 87 to 1993 that I considered classic were:
RX 7
300ZX
Iroc Z Camaro
I remember taking a ride in a Mustang 5.0 convertible rental and the driver floored it and I felt like flying. Might have been an 87 one.

Classic cars I owned:

A 1990 Jackson Racing modified Civic SI. Pedal to metal gas fun at 27 mpg flogging it! Beautiful styling and the girls really noticed me in this car. I wish Honda made a modern hatchback along it's lines!

1988 Prelude SI 4WS - 4 wheel steering, really turned a tight circle and was great for cornering. Had a super low 5th gear for speeding on the highway at 80 to 85 mph at a decent rpm.

1993 Mazda MX 6 LS V6. A $28,000 to $30,000 car brand new! I bought a 4 year old one in 1997 with 163,000 highway miles for $7500. Lasted until 2010 when I sold it for being too old. I should have asked for more than $1000 for it when you can't even find a $1000 car on Craigslist nowadays unless it's junk!

The E30 M3 has gone thru the roof in value over here. I remember buying my minty 1989 325is in 1998 for $6000. I kind of wished I sprung for the E30 M3 parked next to it for $8500
