When I do drive, which isn't often, I prefer hard rock.
ZZ Top, AC/DC and Judas Priest top the list. Some George Thorogood maybe.
But for individual songs, "Highway Star" by Deep Purple and "Radar Love" by Golden Earring are good driving songs--even if it means you might end up speeding a little and getting yourself a ticket.
Night driving usually Jack Johnson or King Diamond, Misfits. Day getting work driving anything from Deftones to Slayer or the Oldies station. No country or rap in my ride.
On nice long drives I'll listen to a few Zepplin or Floyd albums or a nice classical mix. However sometimes you get in those moods where "Running with the Devil" or something similar is required.
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who speeds up to "Radar Love" and "Highway Song". "Detroit Rock City" is the one that got me my first ticket. When you get pulled over for speeding, just say "I was listening to "I Can't Drive 55" and the cop will surely say, "Oh, sorry to bother you", and you'll be on your way.
