This car has about 225,000 miles on it and gets pretty heavy usage. I'm a couier I also use a cargo van, but I have been using this car on small loads to save gas. I think its about time to get something else.

Bottom line is the car isnt worth paying someone to fix it.Only way to come out ok on a car like this is if YOU do the repair yourself...Note ,If you have never done one before dont even try.I offer 200 bucks for the car as is...lol

Sounds like a head gasket issue, and Mitsubishis are notorious for that. The late 90's Galants had the same issue. If the oil is milky or streaky it could definetely be that, and it is an expensive, labor intesive repair. Such a shame on that car because I did always like the look of the Diamante.

Sounds kind of like bad valve guide seals, however until someone qualified looks at it, i would treat it as a bad head gasket and park it!!! The heads on this car are not something you want to try to do yourself, the timing belt itself is around 6 feet long!! not a fun job, Either way you are looking at an expensive fix!! may be cheaper to find a good running motor and swap it in!!!

Good luck!
