I think WRC has some of the best all around drivers, as they race on multiple surfaces and in different weather conditions.

I think F1 and NASCAR drivers are simply good at a certain style of racing. You can't make a good distinction between a driver and a racer in this discussion. They're all insane competitors racing at the top of their sports, just different styles of racing. It takes a special person to run at around 200 mph for a couple hours, most of which being only a few inches away from another car. It also takes a special person to run close to 200 mph, then scrub off 150 mph in a couple hundred feet to make a right hand 50 mph turn (then a left, and a right, etc), and do it 50-60 times in a row while fighting for position.

I have read mnay that drove both and ovals openwheel. They all say that NAASCAR is completely different has the cars don't have much traction at speed and muct be driven all the time. In oval andtreetti said he actaully thinks on;y driving a series on large oval in open wheel is too dangerous . F1 has changed so much from the 60s when teh cars had liitle downfroce and there wqas actual constant passing but of course it was much more dangerous then .I really don't thnik nay take more skill just different skills. F1 now days is more about the cars than the rqacing with the problems of passing.
Listening to those who have rideden it a F1 the real thrill is iun the braking it takes for corenrs. Ocal its the constant speed making it like ice racing .in nawscar its the vehicles themselves and the difference in driver skills and changing condition in thsoe heavy cars. Its all different really.MotoGp is probably the untimate in skill and perfromance racing IMO.

WRC hands down. All surfaces, all conditions. The best thing about the sport is that they are trying to bring it back to the old days when it wasn't about technology running the car but about who drove the best and who was the smartest (tire choices). And it is still the best most exciting form of racing out there too.

Very close you are, but the correct answer is World Rallycar Championship.

I think you need more nerve with WRC than with track racing, with so many hazards and lack of run off areas.
