Would never happen. The cars are just too expensive. It's fun at local short tracks though when people bring out the $500 junkyard cars

I know that. It just seems that figure 8 races are usually more exciting than what NASCAR has produced over the last several years.

I'm a fan of the Spears SRL Southwest Tour, and their cars are also too expensive for figure 8 races. The nice thing about "the tour," though, is that you can watch the other local track races (sometimes including figure 8s) before the SRL "Main Event."

Maybe adding these types of events to a typical "NASCAR Weekend" would bring an added level of interest for the fans.

Pretty much any purpose built cars are going to be too expensive for figure-8 racing.
