I liked Jimmy Johnson's answer when asked if he was going to " play it safe" the last race.

He stated he wanted to qualify high and stay near the front cuz bad things have happened when he was in the middle of the pack.

Smart man !

Many foorball teams have lost games when they had a lead and switched to a more conservative approach late in the game.

Many basketball teams that were playing a fast tempo game have slowed it down near the end and lost.

The farther up front he runs this weekend, the better off he is.

I don't foresee any driver deliberately spinning him out.
The backlash next season would be huge ! -----(IMHO)

About the ONLY thing that can stop the #48 team would be a blown engine (and with JJ's luck it wouldn't blow until he is doing the victory burnout).

Even a devestating wreck can't stop them. They will just rebuild the car in an hour like last time. A tire or cheating? Give me a break!

We all love to see Mark win. It ain't gonna happen.

Homestead sucks to be the last race of the year! Now a Bristol, Martinsville or Darlington would make this last race of interest.
We went there (Miami) (Thank You #18 for the all expense paid trip) last year, big wide open boring azz track. If JJ gets out front, flip back to the NFL and catch the highlights on ESPN....

Ready for Daytona 2010

CONGRATULATIONS JIMMY JOHNSON AND THE 48 TEAM ON YOUR 4-PEAT!!

Also, CONGRATS to the Hendrick Organization on their 1-2-3 finish.

Better luck next year Jeff!

Rick Hendrick is a class act. He flew to NC on race day to be with his niece, who had emergency liver surgery on Sunday, instead of celebrating with his team in FL. This is why he is a champion and the people who work for him love him and do so well for him.

It was pretty much a given that once Jimmie took the points lead, he was going to run with it. I'll give it to the 48 team, they are all clutch performers. They have won 4 in a row for a reason...

I agree.

Mark Martin started the chase in the lead and all he had to do was finish ahead of Jimmy Johnson in every race.

That is nearly impossible.

Mark deserved it though more than Jimmie. JJ won it 3 times already Mark hasn't once. Its hard to even win one race. Mark is the only reason i am still following the sport.

Hard racing and NASCAR haven't gone together in many of years. 98% of today's NASCAR drivers are extreme p---ys.
