10th - 12th are still not safe. Anything can still happen with 3 weeks to go.

Tony has three wins this year. You have to admire Tony to be able to start a new team, with all of those pressures and then be on the top of the standings.

One more win will tie him with Mark Martin for the top seed. That's of course if Mark makes it in. I wish Mark would have overruled the fuel call last week and came in for a sip of gas. Oh well, it's easy to be an "Monday morning Crew-Chief".

True but for the past couple years hasnt the #1 driver in the standings before the Chase wind up losing the Cup? I know Johnson wasnt #1 when he won a couple of those cups

Until someone can top the 48, its his to win again this year. Wether he's 1st or 12th, he will be on top come Homestead...Mark it on your calendar.....

I think Stewart is the only guy that can challenge the 48. Unlike past years, the 48 team has faltered many times, like at both Michigan races, while the 14 has been nice and smooth all season long.

Thats a fair assesment i think. But when you look @ the 10 chase tracks, they've gotta favor 48. You can almost give him Martinsville and Phoenix right off the bat. Kansas and Fontana are very good also.

"Wishing" NASCAR would change those up. Next year have a different 10. And i know we've had this discussion before, but throw in a road course.

I also agree that a road coarse should be thrown in the Chase as well. My guess is that NASCAR feels that would not be fair since generally the same 10 drivers do really well at them. I personally hope Tony Stewart wins it since he is obviously my favorite driver. If he does not win it all I would prefer Mark Martin over anyone else. I have not met many people that dislike him as a fan and never hear any of the other drivers talking trash about him.
