No in the least. But my brother is a HUGE fan and gets to at least 1 race every year. I just don't see the point in watching a car go in a circle for 300 times- doesn't make sense to me. But he sits on the edge of his seat and watches it.
My father and us were watching it together once. They're both sitting their watching trying not to blink and miss anything. After 10 laps I'm starting to get bored so I go outside, smoke a cigar for 1 1/2 hours, go back inside and it looked like they hadn't even moved. I swear I could've said "A nuclear bomb just exploded in the backyard" and they wouldn't even look at me.
I've been three times, once in the pits, once in the stands, and once in the skybox. It's noisy, bits of things fly into your eyes, and you have to hope no one jumps off the track ontop of you. A friend of mine was killed right in front of his son racing.
Don't care if I ever go again. It's not my kind of sport. I prefer handling ability as opposed to speed and have had several European sports cars. I've enjoyed the Glen (Watkins Glen) when they have old Jags and Porsches on display but Nascar, no way.
Used to be, not this year. I've gone to almost all the races at California Speedway since they opened. I was a Rusty Wallace fan and there are so many new guys that I don't know and have no one to root for and there are just too many rules now.
I might take my son this year again since he is older than the other times we went. I missed 2 races since he was born, 3 years ago, and the ones we did take him to we stayed for less than an hour.
here is a pic for DBNN - my favorite and my son's as well.
I follow it through the year. Good time to just sit back and relax for a couple of hours. Especially when the Charlotte race come to town. Us locals just hibernate for the week. Traffic is insane around that time!
Lookin and DBNN, just returned from the arena. Little guy LOVED the show!Sadly GraveDigger was not there. Virginia Giant was amazing and we just laughed when a Santa looking guy in a race suit jumped out of the truck lol Thanks for the pics! Too cute.
Some are into NASCAR for the technology, some for the roaring sounds... but please don't tell me there is much skill involved!
If you enjoy the 500 laps of dead boring driving, Good for you! I much prefer to be amused by true driving talent, so I watch Rally and Drifting. Now those are spectator sports.
For sure it can get boring at times. I also enjoy the American Le Mans series, the Rolex Sport Car series. Rally is cool too. Probably the most insane drivers of any style of racing !
NASCAR is the baseball of motorsports..... BOOOOOOOOOOORING!

No one is more insane than the japanese drifter NOMURA (here on the right), they speed up to 110-125mph and whack the car sideways, while maintaining inch perfect control of the car. All a Nascar driver can do is put a piece a brick on the throttle and stare out of his empty head for 500 laps.
For me, I prefer my racing to be Indy cars. Nothing else like open wheel racing.
NASCAR? I honestly don't even give it a chance. To me it is the WWF of racing. I'm also turned off by it being called stock car racing. Show me a 2007 rear wheel drive car that is running a carb that is on a dealers lot.
