autosports, in general, are sponsor-driven.
the purses are not adequate for the risk.
and, the auto-demographic is approaching
Too Old for sponsors to care anymore.
Liberty might sell for a "song", but it is
better than no song at all.
Now Hamilton says he is thinking about switching to MotoGP. I doubt that it would happen, by the time he learned everything, he would be too old: Hamilton thinking about MotoGP switch
The Qatar race was really thrilling. At the end, the winner won by 2/100 of a second, the first 5 places separated by 6/10 of a second. https://streamable.com/f7kcr

Be interesting to see him get a full MotoGP test to see if he'd be close to competitive times.

Good to see 4 different manufacturers in the top 5 places, I just wish MotoGP was carried on one of the relatively basic cable channels as it used to be.
Finished the rest of the episodes of the Netflix show on F1 - have to say I like Verstappen a lot less now. I realize that it takes ego and confidence to be a great driver, but Verstappen seems to have far too much of both. I am REALLY surprised that the various team's PR people didn't nix a ton of the scenes. Grosjean does not come out smelling of roses, either, and Williams sounds absolutely clueless about what their problems are, beyond lack of money.
I was initially disappointed that Ferrari and Mercedes didn't participate but I enjoyed the look at the smaller teams. And I think that if the Big 2 had participated, they'd have dominated the show pretty much the way they dominate the track.
The scenes between Horner and Abiteboul really highlight the "you don't have friends in F1" truism.

Christian Horner had the best suggestion a while back. Liberty should have Bernie do their negotiating with the promoters and teams, and they concern themselves with things like social media.
I was just reading this on an F1 site, a shocker. One of F1's officials I don't I've ever heard a bad word about, a loss for his family and friends both within and outside F1. Will be a sad grid to open the new season.

I think it's a great loss to Liberty Media as well, I don't know how many 'old-timers' in the sport they can afford to lose.
