Weird 'Dega race. Don't see one team dominate like that much. Good deal for Almirola.
and that always seems odd to me. you have teams with up to four cars, and in some cases outlier teams that have support from the main team, for instance joe gibbs racing with four cars, coupled with furniture row racing with two cars, that is a six car team in a manner of speaking, and yet they, nor hendrick ever really get together to try and push all four team member out front.
in this case however stewart/hass and sometimes with penske helping, they pushed the ford up front for most of the day. if it wasnt for the 4 and the 41 cars running out of fuel, all four cars would likely have taken the top spots, probably with the 41 car winning and the 10 car number four.
I think you can only do that if your out front. As HSR was on Sunday. If you have 1 or 2 with a bad qualifying lap, its hard to get them all lined up in the top 4 spots. Once your mid pack, cars move around so much its hard to stay lined up... i have seen cars on the outside move up but eventually the get broken up as well. So unless you have 4 fast cars, like HSR had on Sunday, and all qualify up front then its just too hard for 4 cars to lineup that way...
Not a big HSR fan or Ford for that matter but certainly glad to see Amarillo get to victory lane! Its hard not to like that guy!
so chase elliot gets his third career win today at kansas, good job chase. i knew that when he finally broke through and got his first win that he was going to go on a tear.
Not sure what every one else thought of yesterdays (Martinsville) final laps but i thought they were fantastic! I certainly didn't want Joey to win but have no angst with him the way he did it. Last lap, last turn, moved Truex out of the way... Like KB said, if you don't like that kinda racing.. why watch!
On another note, it was hard not to notice the empty seats... not to mention the empty sections with advertising tarps covering 'em up..

It looked like a clean bump and run, but Truex was not surprisingly, very upset.
He vowed that Joey would not win the Championship.
after joey bumped truex and got underneath him, truex turned down on joey, and then claimed to be upset with joey.
the cup series drivers have perfected the "whine" when things dont go their way.
