Newman went scorched earth on him. He referenced Tony's anger issues, called him bipolar, made a thinly-veiled reference to the death of Kevin Ward, Jr, and said he needs to retire if that's how he's gonna drive.
Newman only said what many have been thinking for a long time.

That's pretty horrible.. At those ages.. You kinda wonder if it was a health issue where he's sick and she takes him out then herself or vice versa.
Pretty strange for people of that age to have a murder-suicide out of anger.
Has anyone heard anything about his father having health issues?
He drove well in today's Chicago race and then a last minute caution caused him problems and he came in 3rd. When he was interviewed he gave a standup, no excuses account of what happened.
He seems to have skill, great equipment and a strong personality.
I might be developing into a fan. I thought his dad was a good driver and all, just was hard to understand.
Were it not for the poor decision by his crew chief to come in on that last caution AND then the left rear tire carrier missing a tire grab Chase would have won that race.
Lots of good things coming with that 24 team if they can get past shooting themselves in the tire...
