Newman to the RCR #31 sponsored by Caterpillar.

I think Newman looks at home behind the wheel of their equipment!

Ryan Newman to the 31, good call there Childress. I wonder what that means for Burton. I think Austin Dillion is still moving to the 29 team (whether or not it gets renumbered is another story.)

I caught that on the yahoo article. I meant where Burton will end up. I don't see many options for him. Maybe the 47 or Nationwide unless he wants to part-time or start and park.

Allmendinger is already going to drive the 47 next year. I figure on him retiring or I heard he could drive for Tommy Baldwin.

This one surprised me a little bit. It's a smart business move for the Captain. Montoya has the pedigree but I just don't see him as a Penske driver from a personality perspective. I figured Andretti would lock him up.

I am not surprised. It's a high profile Indy ride that's not with Target racing. Speaking of JPM, is it just me or has it seemed like he is just not into it anymore?

He's probably just doing his time at this point. I suppose the NASCAR thing didn't turn out quite the way he expected it to. He went from being a star to a middle of the pack driver. I expect him to be rejuvenated next year.

Yeah some drivers do crap out when they know they are leaving, that or the crew gives up on them. Others seem to do just as good. Harvick and Newman this year anyone?
