Hello all,
Could you please tell me some good apartments (not too expensive, not worn down, not a crime-ridden area) to live that are close to the Austin Information Technology Center (Veterans Affairs) located at:
1615 Woodward St in Austin?
Thank you.

The following have more positive reviews then most in the area. They came up when I used google maps on the area and searched for "rental", many others came up but had worse reviews.

St Edward's Place I‎
4 star, 6 reviews
125 Woodward Street
Austin, TX 78704-8947
(512) 448-3999

Silvercreek Apartments‎
3 star, 24 reviews
2900 South 1st Street
Austin, TX 78704-6386
(512) 448-3003

The following have lower ratings, 2.5 stars but seem advantageous for your work location, within walking distance of your work and a city park and close to bus routes. Large complexes with their own swimming pools.

Park Lane Villas‎
1720 Woodward Street, Austin, TX 78741-7823
(512) 444-7555‎
2.5 stars, 26 reviews

Montecito Apartments‎
2.5 stars, 38 reviews
3111 Parker Lane
Austin, TX 78741-6992
(512) 447-3806

I lived in Park Lane Villas when I first moved to Austin and apartment occupancy was high and the rents were out of control in 2000. I liked that I got a lot of space for the $. It's by no means a high end place, but when I lived there it was nice enough and I didn't have any issues with crime or any scary issues. The biggest pain was the gate frankly. "Guests" would drive up to the intercom and sit - either not knowing the # of the person they were coming to see or the person wasn't answering the call. So annoying.

Hello all - I need an apartment on Woodward or close by that offers a 6 month lease. Graduating from St. Ed's in December and my roommate bailed on me. Any leads?

It would probably require a bit more in-depth personal research, but there are also some privately owned flourplex type apartments on Willowrun Drive, right off Woodward St across from St Ed's. There are a lot of students that rent there, but overall it is a fairly quiet and safe neighborhood. Of course, it is hard to tell the quality of the apartments, whether or not they are reasonably priced, the lease terms, etc.

You may also want to look around Parker Ln near Woodward, I don't have any specific suggestions but I know there are a lot of apartment complexes in that area, and it is very close to the AITC.
