I gotta go to the Engineering bulding tomorrow, but I have no idea where to park. I think that I'm gonna take the 26th Street Exit on I-35 ( if there's one) and just take a left turn and go down the street to the engineering building. Can I park anywhere close to it??

The information that you need can be found at the link below. Depending on what time you get there and how long you need to be parked, you might be able to find a metered space nearby. You could park in a garage, but it might be a little pricey depending on how long you'll be there. You could always stop by one of the parking kiosks labeled on the map and ask the person inside.

There are several engineering buildings, but 26th street (now called Dean Keaton, I think) goes pretty much through the middle of them. I think there is either 2-hour parking or meter parking along 26th, but I have not been down there in a long time. If you don't look like a student and you are down there are some business, the cop-in-a-box will sometimes give you a visitor pass, which allows you to park in visitor parking on campus. have not done that in years, either, so not sure on the details.

The exit from I-35 may be called Dean Keaton now, not sure.....

Default Windsor

I am assuming you are coming in from the North. There is no 26th st exit if I remember right. You have Windsor (that can take you to 24th eventually- but you need to figure this out via google maps). 24th will hit Guadalupe and you can take a left at the intersection. Parking spots are rare on campus but you can park in one of the garages. I think it might be 10 dollars.

Use this map Main Campus - Engineering Area and there is a parking garage at the intersection (south east- not shown in this map) of Dean Keaton and San Jacinto. That might be your best bet.

Thank you !

I'm coming from Houston. I'll take I-10 and 71. I have no idea how to get around in Austin. That's why I need to plan ahead carefully. I know I-35 and I was gonna get on it cause it seems easier.

Now that you all found the map.. I gotta go to the ENS building. Last time I went I didn't even find the parking garages

It looks like there's some road work on 183 or 111? It wants me to get off the freeway and then go around it and get back on 111.

P.S The 8-10 Dollars for the parking garage ( only about 2 hours ) is a rip off, imo. That's why I was gonna avoid it.

You should be able to find parking on Dean Keeton (26th Street) now that the students are gone. If that doesn't work out, park in the lot for the LBJ Presidential Library--it's about a five to ten minute walk from there to the Engineering building.

I've parked there before, it's not too bad (although I don't know how strict they are with the "for library visitors only"...) anyway, you can cut through a lot of air conditioned buildings on the way to one of the engineering buildings. I used to do that all the time.

When I went to LBJ I could usually squeeze a half dozen parks there a semester. What happens is if the guard recognizes your car he puts a little red tag on the Texas map on your license plate. Next time you show up you get the ticket.

Just don't ever park there when there is a football game!
