That is assuming that it is true that there has been employment growth and that your statement, UT, state government and big private employers are "cutting back," then mid and small size businesses are all that are left. Anyhow, small businesses do employ more people than big businesses - at least that was the case three years ago when I undertook a research project regarding the two.
I was questioning the claim of the so-called "job-growth" itself.

Yes, Austin was the leader in jobs, leading in where the H*ll are the jobs? Too, many people laid off and too, little jobs are being offered. OK, so Austin had a couple of "JobFairs" but for positions that didn't fit for the majority of those looking for work. Take Seton for instant, I'm a wire bonder, what position does Seton have, or Taco Bell, Whataburger, or yes I forgot, H.E.B..
The thing is yes there are jobs out there but for the "Customer Service" people only, and if you don't have experience in C.S. area, (which by the way most companies have lousy Customer Service ) you out of luck.
So, we all know Dell has a massive lay off and left a lot of people out in the streets, how can Austin brag about being the "Leader In Jobs" when it's obviously going down hill?
Thank God for home business.
