With all the Surrounding States, passing laws and actually enforcing them, to take up where the federal government has fallen way short and Austin being an illegal alien Sanctuary City, they are flooding here, from self deportation orders in other stricter states. In the last year Dallas, Houston and Austin's illegal alien populations, has doubled.
If you make a living in construction and like working with your hands to create art, you don't have a job. If your kids need a summer job, they are non-existent.

Why not, it is now a fact of life in Austin.
The invasion will never end, unless we say so. So far 72% say the time is now, to say so.
The hammer is falling nation wide, state by state. They are running to Texas Sanctuary cities, to get away from those states dropping the hammer on them.
Like I say, facts are facts. Truth hurts, worse than lies.

So, where do you suggest that people in states where the hammer has fallen should go to find work? They obviously can't stay where they are and survive. What if you lived in one of those states, like Michigan or Ohio or where ever, and lost your job and home. Where would you go?

Why are they able to work in the USA, in the first place? They are not here legally, which means it is illegal to employ them

"What if" covers everything. It does nothing to address a huge problem, both social and economical, that the majority of the US has said enough is enough.

"What if" an illegal alien residing in Austin, with no DL or insurace, kills everyone in your family, as they hit and run?

"What if" you were told to train illegal aliens, for them to take your job, here in Austin?

"What if" your child was refused service here in Austin, the illegal aliens get at no cost?

"What if" your Social Security number was stolen and used to get work and use social services, here in Austin?

"What if" the only way you could get a job in Austin, was to be able to speak Spanish?

What if?

I'm talking about the hundreds of thousands of auto workers and those in the related industries here in Michigan that have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. Auto imploded due to management's focus on short-term profits with huge SUVs and not focusing on long-term goals of building smaller, reliable cars. In the last 10 years, Japanese cars surpassed the big 3 in market share, who are by the way, no longer the big 3. Many of those laid off workers in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, etc., have lost their homes. Where are they supposed to go to find work? Texas has been one option for some of them.

Oh, you quoted me, I assumed you're on the same page as I was.

Had the government not dropped import tariffs, we would not be in the situation we have today.

As far as Union auto workers moving here, I guess they could start over in another career, if they can find the work.

I live in SE Michigan. There are NO jobs here for anyone. I have a master's degree, lots of experience, excellent references, and cannot find any job, not even in a coffee shop for $7.50/hour. People who don't live here don't realize the depression this state is in. Homes are being auctioned off for $1.00 (plus back taxes) in Detroit. It's bad here. Really bad.

Laid off auto workers are losing their homes and many are in the 50's. Retraining for an entirely new career in a place like Michigan would likely be a mistake, as there are no jobs when they are done retraining, and they would be 60 years old at that point in many cases. Who is hiring 60 year olds these days? Most union auto workers only have a high school diploma and no college. At their age, their best bet might be moving to a state such as Texas and trying to find work, any work. Yes, they have to scale down their lifestyle dramatically, but how can they stay here in Michigan after losing their homes? There are simply no options here for most people out of work. Every job that does come open has 500-600 applications, or more. Local school systems are getting 800 plus applications for the few openings they have, and that's after all the layoffs. The job market in Michigan is really pretty hopeless, and most of all for older auto workers laid off through no fault of their own.

There needs to be a national solution to the unemployment problem, but that's not coming any time soon as far as I can tell. There needs to be a real jobs program for everyone, not just dishing out more unemployment benefits, which is a bandaid.

Really, isn't it great that we live in a country where it is perfectly legal to live in any state you should choose. Wherever opportunities are?

"The Grapes of Wrath" as written by conservatives.
