Can anyone recommend someone who hangs Christmas lights? The people I used in the past are no longer doing it, and the others I know of charge an obscene amount of money.

I was paying about $300 before, but ABC Pest and Lawn and others are asking $700+.

I am sure it depends on the house and what you want done, but I think that many of the tree trimming companies also do lights...no idea how much they charge, though.

It does depend on what you want done. But the $700+ vs. $300 was to have the exact same thing done.

We get stuff stuck to our door all the time, but I have heard stories of those folks never showing up, etc., so I was hoping to get some places that people have used before.

Wow. I had no idea people would pay that chunk of change for Xmas lights. We usuallly put
up our one miserly strand across our front porch. LOL

Trust me, I did not even consider paying $700. I would do it myself but I am too lazy. Also our house is 2 stories and sits on a pretty good hill, so I know I would fall and kill myself. And forget my husband - he would rather pay $700.

The $300 I paid before was to hang icicle lights along my roofline and a lighted wreath over my garage (and take them down).

Someone must pay that though if that's what they charge.

Taking them down is a PITA. I might be inclined to leave them up all year if it was too much of an effort to put them up and take them down.

Wow..I hope my son doesn't read this forum..I give him $20 to hang the lights on our house
But we don't go all out and do the entire roof line and chimney - string along the gutters and more on the porch railings.

With the cost of energy, my lights will be off this year... and maybe the next. Ho ho ho....
