Can anyone, please, suggest interesting (and hopefully not super expensive) birthday party ideas for the kids. I have to find a place to celebrate birthday for my kids- daughter,3, in November and son, 8, in December.

Thanks a lot.

For a three year old Radijazz near Highland Mall or The Dell Children's Museum, or you can have it at home and hire Sportsball (they do all kinds of activites geared towards little kids in most of the larger daycares) the weather in November maybe okay, the Chuckecheese on Parmer/Mopac area in new and does a good job.

For the 8 yr. old Dave & Busters, Westgate/Highland Bowling lanes (this was a big hit for my 6yr old), Austin's Park (go-karts, laser-tag), there is also Peter Pan Putt-Putt golf an Austin landmark or laser tag places. Near the UT campus they have glow in the dark bowling and golf (Union Underground). Hope that helps…Kudos to you for having a party for your December kid.

For the 3 year old girl, Gymboree would be nice. We had it there when our daughter was turning 3.

The Main Event (NW Austin) has a room you can hire, or have party food and balloons etc at the tables set up by the bowling alley.

There is bowling, glow golf, lazertag, a climbing wall and game machines (to win points for prizes).

We did a train party at Zilker when our son was little and it was a blast! Peter Pan Golf is fun and Westgate Lanes did a good job for us as well. Glow Bowling at UT would be another fun spot. The Little Gym South Austin does a great job as well.

I would second the idea of a climbing wall party for your 8 year old. We moved to Seattle last year from Austin and did our son's party at a climbing gym for about 8 kids. They had an exceptional time and the party was talked about for a long time after...I think because it was the first time climbing with instruction for most of the kids.

For the 8 yr old, you could have an ice skating party! We did that for one son at 6 and the other at 10 and the kids loved it!

What about for a kid going on 6? Well, next yr. anyway but she's already discussing plans for it.
