Anyone have recommendations for a good vet in south west/south Austin? We have a new puppy and she needs shots, etc. but I'd rather not take her to Petsmart.

I've used Ben White Pet Hospital -it's right there on Ben White and Frontier. Both of the vets, Dr. Garza and Dr. Devine are great and they seemed to me to be very reasonably priced. I have a 14 pound cat who is as sweet and docile as they come...until you take him to the vet and then he turns into monster kitty. They had to give him gas to adminster his shots and she gave me a price break since I wasn't planning on having to knock him out to get vaccinated.

South Lamar Animal Clinic was wonderful for our pets when we lived in that area. (Especially when our Great Pyrenees had a spinal embolysm.) On South Lamar and Bluebonnet.

Oh, my goodness! And what a perfect name! (Puppy lust. Must resist - already have two big dogs due to puppy lust, one heeler, one GP/lab cross - not related to the GP mentioned above who is no longer with us.)

Thank you

I found a vet closer to us, on 290 W. Funny, he said his favorite patient is a corgi/blue heeler mix named Widget. I told him I thought Sprocket didn't look like a full-blooded corgi and the vet is guessing that Sprocket is also a heeler/corgi mix because of her markings.

Yeah, I thought there might be some heeler in there, for much the same reason.
