Ok, it is birthday party time on my street and we are last on the list. One girl is having a "mock" sleepover (you go, wear pjs, stay late and just don't spend the night). Another girl is having a pool party, and one other is having a western themed party at home. We want to do something at home that is different, but still won't cost an arm and leg. Any suggestions?

What about a Scavenger Hunt
Tea Party
Make your own pizza (could be dessert pizza)
Mardi Gras party but I don't think you would be able to get stuff now

I have boys so if you need help with a circus theme, pirates, firetrucks (the fire station actually came to our party with two trucks the kids loved it and the firemen stayed to watch the kids relay as they each saved Elmo) The link below may help you.

My just turned 8 yr old is a boy - but we had boys and girls at our party and all had fun.

We did a camping party. We set up a tent in the backyard, we have a pool, so that was the "lake". We also did tie dyed shirts, roasted hotdogs & made smores. We borrowed one of those fire pits from a neighbor. Boys slept over, in the tent in back.

Call the Fire Department! They will come out, wet down the kids, let them spray some water and climb all over the Fire Truck!

My neighbor is going to do the fireman thing this year for her youngest son. Since we live so close to it, she's going to see if they'll let them have a mini tour or something. I like all the creative ideas here. I never know what to do for my daughter. Her birthday is in April and she already knows what kind of cake she wants next year

We used to take the kids to the park for the birthday, do the traditional cake and ice cream and presents, and let them play in the park. They absolutely loved it, and the clean-up was certainly easier!
