Hi Everyone-

I am leaving Austin for home in New England in a year and would like some suggestions of things I should do and experience in my last year here... (Please don't hijack this thread and tell me why you think Austin is better than New England... We can debate, but that's not what I am here for...)

I know that many events happen seasonally, so I'd like to fill my calendar through next May with things that are great Austin activities...

I'd like to leave Austin with happy memories of an activity filled final year in Texas.

Thanks!

Make sure you go to Eeyore's Birthday Party.

And Pecan Street Festival.

And twirl under the Zilker tree. A

nd go to 37th Street at Christmas.

And eat all the Tex-Mex and Interior Mexican food you possibly can.

Go to Shakespeare in the Park at Zilker. (If you want more Shakespeare, check out Round Top - it's not that far a drive.)

Hit some of the events at the Texas Wine & Food Festival (April).

Go two-stepping at The Broken Spoke.

Listen to music at the Saxon Pub.

Don't miss the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and possibly SXSW, to boot.

There's lots more, but that's enough to START a list.

Default Pecan Street

Pecan Street is one of my favorite things about Austin-- I have missed it the last few years... I can catch it in the late summer, correct?

It's twice a year, Spring and Fall. You can get information on the both Festival here.
