Austin job suggestion
metasparks - I would have recommended Lockheed, but they now have only a minor presence in Austin. Some of the former employees started a company that does a lot of data-mining, and I know that a security clearance is required to work there.
The company name was formerly "Austin Info Systems" and via acquisition, is now called Overwatch Textron Systems, Tactical Operations". Here's the contact info:
Overwatch Textron Systems, Tactical Operations - WELCOME . They plaster "Microsoft Certified Partner" jpegs all over their site, so I'm assuming SQL Server 2005 experience is better than Oracle, but who knows??

PS - You might try the IRS on South I-35, although their clearance requirements are probably different.
