I know soon the trail of lights will be set up.. But I'm more or less curious to know if there are any homes which people go all out for Christmas. I've seen homes where they convert the garages to a glass door and have Santa and the whole nine yards in there. Any homes like that have incredible displays? Always fun to grab a hot chocolate and drive around looking at Christmas lights.

Just for the record: do NOT go to the 37th Street lights as they are now dead.

There is a "Frozen" theme home in Avery Ranch that the lights sync to the music. You can watch the video here and get address. Free Fun in Austin: Frozen Medley Christmas Light Show

Nice display in Cedar Park too. Last year they were on the show "The Great Christmas Light Fight", it is being rerun on TLC at 8 pm (central time) Thursday, Dec.4. Here is the Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/RhodesFamilyChristmas

Wimberly's Trail of Lights is great, and the outlying burbs have some pockets. But compared with other Texas cities, Austin isn't big into Christmas decorating. I honestly think the central Austin neighborhoods are more decked-out for Halloween than Christmas.

Chinati Court and Anna Court in Cedar Park have nice displays, and the "Elfvis and the Kringles" home in Round Rock is really cute, too! Our neighborhood, Walsh Trails, has a lot of lights up but none of the super-fancy themed houses.

What part of town are you in? I'm in Steiner Ranch, and there are several houses here that have amazing light displays synchronized to music. There's also one street that does The Night Before Christmas in Texas. Each house has a huge wooden page of a book (nicely decorated) with a line from the story. You have to drive down the whole street to read the entire thing. It's really cute.

Not quite Avery Ranch...that home is in the Meadows of Brushy Creek(east of Avery Ranch). I'd hate for someone to drive around the 4000 homes of Avery Ranch looking for the Frozen house .

There is actually more than one Frozen house making the rounds on the internet. There's one in Brushy Creek, one in Avery Ranch, and one in Cedar Park that I know of. (I think the Cedar Park one is the same guy who did the Gangnam Style house a few years ago). I have also heard that most of them are not lit most nights because of traffic issues and neighbor/HOA complaints. Also, the Cedar Park house and Avery Ranch house (I believe) are in gated neighborhoods, so may be hard to get into anyway.
