Does anybody remember the beautiful barn that used to be across the street from Kerbey Lane Cafe (at 2606 Guadalupe) and The Local (formerly Showdown & Raul's)? It was removed to build the Almetris Duren Residence Hall. It was behind an old house. Was it relocated?

Someone told me it was relocated to the wildflower center, but then someone else told me it was demolished. It was pretty elaborate for a barn. It had dormer windows.

I remember it! but don't know what happened to it. It was gorgeous!

Edited to add: i think that it IS at the Wildflower Center! Check this out. "The carriage house was originally located behind the Driskill mansion at 2612 Whitis Avenue, which today is located just north of the campus of the University of Texas."

That is a wonderful building, I did not realize that it had been relocated.

Wasn't that the structure that was behind the old Scarborough house on Whitis that burned down?

I recall that in the early '60s the basement of the old Littlefield mansion was divided up into little cubicle rooms, each with an upright piano. It was open for any students to play during the day & evening - first come, first served.
