It's about time for me to renew the insurance.
With the few storms we got in the spring, I realize my insurance company is not a good one.

Any recommendation?

We have been happy with State Farm Insurance for over 30 years in Austin, but there may be cheaper companies out there. There is usually a reason they are cheaper.

We've been with Germania for over 15 years now for house, auto, and farm insurance. Not only are their prices good, but I love the way they respond to claims - no hassle, a quick check, and no increase in rates. Pretty much what I want in an insurance company. It's also a member organization, and has a credit union.

I'm more than happy to work with Watkins Insurance. Somebody on this forum recommended their service. They are true professionals and can get you great rates for your Auto and Home insurance.

I recommend Ed Stubblefield with American Casualty Insurance Agency. He won't get you the cheapest policy. He'll get you the right policy with the right amount of coverage.

If you are eligible, it is absolutely impossible to beat USAA for either - on price or service. Plus, you get an annual profit sharing distribution since it is a co-op.

They expanded eligibility dramatically in 2008. Visit their web site to see.

2nd on USAA, they're amazing ... essentially if you have an immediate family members that are military or veterans then you'll qualify.

I'm one of the Watkins followers...called them before we moved in '08, had them do the 'shopping' and have been with them ever since. Review every couple of years, switching companies once in order to improve coverage(modest savings in $). They saved our aunt HUNDREDS of dollars when we switched from one of the heavily advertised 'old school' insurers.

Watkins can shop many companies to find you the best combination of coverage and cost.

Thanks for the info. I will try Watkins to see if I might save on my auto and home insurance.

BTW, my browser returns a 404 for the link above (due to some extraneous characters in the link). If others too have faced this problem, here is a link that works: Watkins Insurance Group - Home, Auto, Life, Business and Employee Benefits insurance in Austin, Texas.
