I took whole week of Thanksgiving off i.e., 17th to 24th. I'll be 40 on 20th :-)...wanted to go on a road trip along with my wife and 2 boys (8 and 4). I can go as far as 12 hours one way. I would appreciated any suggestions.

Thanks

New Orleans! It's a 9 hour drive if you drive like I do.

A slightly longer trip (but under 10 hours) would be to Memphis.

Both are great American cities with lots of history and things to do.

Head out to New Mexico, it maybe about 10 to 12 hrs one way depending on which way your heading but it is definitely worth the trip. I head out there for skiing, and snowboarding every few years.

Between here and Santa Fe, no. But once you get there it's great.

My vote would be for NOLA, 9ish hours straight through so with your 12 hour limit it leaves you plenty of time for kicking around in between.

We went for a long weekend in April with our 3 and 6 year olds, had a great time.

New Orleans or Big Bend/Terlingua. If you go to Terlingua, see if Mimi at La Posada Milagro has any rooms available and tell her Celeste sent ya - we LOVED that place and it is totally off the beaten path you see around here, although the cell service and Wifi worked better than in Cedar Park! :-)

I agree.

Ruidoso, NM is between 10-11 hours depending on your speed of travel. Nice area to visit.
