So I'm an airline pilot and I'm overnighting in Austin today. I had hardly stepped outside the hotel this afternoon when I saw this older guy rideing a bike wearing nothing but this little jockstrap thing! I guess he is helping keep Austin weird? Lol. I'm not offended by it, let him do his thing, I just thought it was odd.

Yeah, no biggie... he's been around forever. I see him all over town.
You are aware that we have a nude beach within city limits, and topless swimming at Barton Creek, and a long reputation for various naked bike rides and topless marathons, and so on... right?
I mean, it gets hot here... and some people just don't like wearing a lot of clothes. It's an Austin thing.

There's also a thong walker. Saw a pretty tall guy walking in a thong on W 6th near 3rd base. Unfortunately, I was close enough to see he would better be called G-String Guy.

I rode 'near' the thong rider in last year's Tour de Fat bicycle parade. Couldn't seem to get away from the guy. He was very fit looking, although the 'tail' he was wearing looked like it could get caught in the bike spokes at any time.
