Jeff Ward often has listeners call in with Thong Man sightings. I have seen him on 360 near the bridge. I always thought he lived in the western part of town, as that's where most of the sightings seem to be.

But it's possible that there's more than one Thong Man.

We saw a "Thong guy" riding near the Shady Grove a few years ago. He had an American flag sticking out of the back of the thong - quite a sight and required more than a few explanations to our little kiddos.

Not a pretty sight, but hey, more power to him.

Leslie Cochran was the quintessential "thong guy" of Austin and the one that started it all. He died earlier this year. Here is a link to the Austin Statesman gallery:

Leslie also ran for mayor one time (he lost but received a decent share of votes).

Personally, I say leave the guy alone. Leslie got attention too...so much that he was beat up by azzholes on a regular basis.

I don't know one bike-riding thong guy from another , but you might be thinking of achtungpv, who describes himself in his bio here as "Thong Guy in SW Austin". In fact, he posted earlier in this thread.

Now that you mention it, I've seen him numerous times on Far West as well.

He does seem to get around.

Moderator cut: orphaned

Actually we have talked about him in this forum before, I believe he has even posted comments here.

Thanks Thong Guy for helping keep Austin weird!

Here is a post and photo by "achtungpv" Thong Guy, don't know if the photo is a joke or not. https://www.city-data.com/forum/austi...l#post10076553

Oh, now I see he posted #6 in this thread. He's back!
