Each tree has its own schedule. I have one ash tree that is just budding but the one right next to it has lots of leaves already!

We have had a wet winter so hopefully it will be a good spring for the wild flowers. They can be amazing.

They are already blooming in S. Texas.

We have already had daffodils and pink hyacinth blooming in our yard. The Confederate Jessamine vine on my fence is covered with yellow blossoms.

A lot of trees are already turning in Dallas. Funny that they haven't in Austin.

My two bur oaks are budding now. I've also started to notice that subtle yellow-green hue the trees get when they are starting to wake up.

In other words...NOW!

I just noticed that some of the Carolina Jessamine has climbed up into the oak tree above the fence it is on. Now there is a huge mass of yellow blossoms in the oak tree.

The new Cedar Elm I planted last year, which I was worried was dead because of the drought, has started to bud! Yay!

Also, the Mountain Laurels are producing a spectacular display this year. The ones in our neighborhood are completely draped in long, blue blooms. They are very fragrant, too -- the blooms smell just like sweet tarts to me.
