Where's the best place for the tree and price? I'm not looking for too large. Prefer longer needles, but will deal with shorter.

Last year, I think we paid way too much. What's your experience and recommendation?

Yeah, but driving up there, cutting it somewhere and paying THAT price, then driving it back down here..........? Not a good suggestion, carmelita.

We've always gotten ours at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Burnet - sold by Montana Fresh. Apparently they have another location, too (didn't know that):

Montana Fresh Christmas Trees

I don't know how the price compares but I think that good Christmas trees, with needles that will stay on a while, are somewhat expensive and that's all there is to it. We have had good luck with these trees retaining their needles well past Christmas. (We did keep them watered and used the Christmas tree food-stuff that Montana Fresh also sells.)

Good luck!

Well, I should add that I hope the money goes to a good cause. We used to support a Boy Scout Troop when we bought ours. We always keep it watered.

We have historically had good luck with Home Depot - the trees have lasted from when we got them just after thanksgiving to when we got rid of them around new year's. They have also done a good job trimming the trunk for us (and even let us tell them how to do it, if we want ) and re-wrapping the tree in mesh so we can get them home on top of our car.

After years of paying 125+ for Christmas trees in Manhattan, we go to Home Depot now as well.

We've had good luck with our trees from there.

WOW............I thought $80 was alot! But, I used to live in an area where they were cheap and plentiful. I will look at Home Depot. Thanks to you and Trainwreck for the suggestion.

The ironic part is, those trees are from Oregon.
