Thank you. We have debating on whether to buy from HD or Papa Noel.

We bought ours from Home Depot last weekend and were surprised by the good quality of what we saw. We've bought from Papa Noel before, but HD was better priced and had a huge selection of full, healthy looking trees. We ended up with a Noble Fir. Last weekend they had plenty of Noble, Frasier and Douglas firs.

Was glad to have read about their trees here...had not crossed my mind to buy one there before!

We used to go to Lowe's, but this year we bought from HD as well.

Got a 6' Fraser Fir for 19 bucks. Last year I paid 40 for the same kind/size @ Lowe's.

Taking the kids to HD is not really that thrilling. Papa Noel is a better experience. Who cares about price anyway!

Well, I have never taken my kids to PNs, so not sure what it is like, but they LOVE going to HD. Not sure why one would be better than the other, though.....they are both a big tent full of trees .

If price is not a problem, the place at Bee Caves and 360 still sells trees (although they store them elsewhere), so you can buy a size of tree, then go and pick it our from the lot. They then trim and deliver to your house, provide a stand, and pick up the tree for recycling after Christmas. I think the 8-9' trees were $195 or something. Again, I have not used that, but one co-worker did and said they had an excellent selection of trees.

Last year we went to Elgin to cut our own tree down for the experience only to find out the drought made it a not-so-much fun experience. We bought a 6 ft tree for $60+ and it was one sided - which was ok since it was up against a wall.

We are buying a cut tree this year so I care about price.

We got ours at HD as well. We prefer Noble Firs, HD and overpriced idependent garden centers seem to be some of the only places that carry them. We got a beautiful 6 ft tree.

Having lived in Christmas tree country for many years I can tell you that many tree farms that ship their trees south cut and wrap them around October. Good luck!

I can believe that. We cut ours last year around the first of Dec. and by march it was still green with no water, just laying behind our shed. We were waiting for it to dry up a bit before shredding it. I was amazed.
