So my wife and I are looking to buy a house within a few months, probably in the Round Rock area. I had a flyer stuck in my door the other day telling me about all these government grants and financial incentives, with "$0 down" on new homes.

Of course, I am extremely skeptical of any random flyer stuck in my door telling me about $0 down payment homes, but the possibility of FTHB Incentives and Grants was intriguing.

Can anyone provide some info on these supposed grants and incentives? We'd like to take advantage of any that we can and get into a house within 6-10 months. We'd also be happy to speak with any Real Estate Agents you may know for referral bonuses, or if you ARE a Real Estate Agent, send me a message.

We're so happy to be able to call beautiful Austin and Round Rock home, having escaped the economic middle-class murderer known as Long Island, New York. I'm still amazed at the houses I see down here...gorgeous homes in the range of $150 - $175....in New York those $150K homes would probably go for no less than $450K. Ridiculous.

And that was "FTHB" (First Time Home Buyer), not "Frant" as the forum somehow mistook me for typing...I KNOW I didn't type "Frant".

USDA Home loans offer 0 down and you can roll your closing costs into the loan if you qualify. I am currently using this to buy my first home. However, it must be outside the city limits of Austin. google it and you can find a map of eligible areas. Round rock won't count, you'll need to look at Leander
