as far as I know, the 4 lesbian couples on my block have no problems... they all seem to be happy where we/they are.

By all means then you should say which neighborhoods..the newer neighborhoods in RR or the older established neighborhoods nearer to downtown RR ? Some of the older neighborhoods I frequent are pretty conservative.

I will not disclose my new neighborhood but I lived in Forest Creek until the beginning of Austin. I'll bet I could find tons of bigots in older neighborhoods in Austin too.

So being conservative is the same as being a bigot ?

Round Rock is pretty chock full of transplants from more liberal states and probably countries for that matter. I've met some tolerant and left leaning people from old and new forest creek. Before they moved to CC, had some left leaning lib friends who lived in a neighborhood next to Old Settlers Park.

So Conservatives INSIDE of Travis County aren't portrayed as having any bias or bigotry but Conservatives in Williamson or other counties besides Travis are just dripping with it? I know I'm getting off topic, but there seems to be a double edged sword here. I know a few tiny towns right outside of Houston in Brazoria County that actually have quite a few gay/lesbian/transgendered folks living there that do so without fearing for their lives. There are places in Texas that still get stereotyped like crazy but in reality most of the residents have grown out of their great grandparents/grandparents 19th century mindsets.

All that said though, I don't think Round Rock will have a "montrose strip" anytime soon and no pride parades run through town but honestly I don't think most people would bat an eye at it.

No, but to certain ignorant people they are.

That can be true. To a older couple in their 70's and conservative, I just go with the flow. They are set in their ways and aren't changing and there's nothing I can say or do to force them, not that I even want to. I just accept them for who they are knowing they grew up in a different time and generation.

But I wouldn't call them either bigots or ignorant..just old and set in their ways. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's called tolerance.

I agree.

But maybe it's because I'm a lesbian trapped in an old white male conservative's body.

I live in Round Rock. Great city. Even though it has been here forever it looks new. New homes, shopping centers, clubs, restaurants. Just remember part of round rock is in Travis County and other parts are in Williamson County. Its like night and day. The hip and liberal verses the old west.

The reason why I am in love with Round Rock is because it is amazingly beautiful and it is a wonderful place to start a family. I am more focused on my future children and a place for them to have great memories. It's a very safe community and area and thats why I want to move there
