I'm not even going to take a poll on this.

I just want to make sure y'all are pronouncing Audi correctly.

If you say something like ODD-ee or AH-dee, go to the back of the line and do not even discuss this vehicle!

If you say something like OW-dee (slightly different if you are fluent in German, which I am), you can hang around and play.

That's all.

Have a nice day.

OW-dee. I said OD-dee when I was a kid though.

I found a 1987 Audi commercial where they discussed a safety feature called Procon-ten. Here's the English translation:

Script in english:

The Situation:
In a head on collision, it is the driver who is in the greatest danger. The steering wheel frequently causes severe head injury.

The idea:
We wrapped steel cables around the engine block, and connect them to the safety belts and steering column. In a frontal collision, the cables tighten the safety belt and pull the steering wheel out of the way.

The result:
A new safety system. Procon-ten. One more reason to drive an Audi.

Audi (pronounced [ˈʔaʊ̯dɪ ʔaːˈgeː] ( listen))
The company name is based on the Latin translation of the surname of the founder, August Horch. "Horch", meaning "listen" in German, becomes "audi" in Latin.

Apparently I was saying it correctly, but now I'm going to say Ah Dee just because I know it irritates fanboys on the internet who can't do anything about it.
