Hello All,

I will be staying in Atlanta for some time next year to work at Grady Memorial Hospital. Since I will be in surgery, I will have really early morning reporting hours, around 6:00 a.m. Thus it is imperative that I find housing that is within walking distance, or really close by.

In this regard, I would really appreciate if someone could answer the following queries that I have:

1. Apart from Craigslist, what are the other safe and dependable, online resources to look for temporary housing?

2. How early does the MARTA rail system kick in, in the morning? I I live close to a station, can I catch the rail around 5:00-5:30? I have heard that the buses start late. Is it the same deal with the rail system?

3. What is the weather like in March and April? Any snow or rain? Is it favorable for commuting by foot or by public transport?

I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks a lot!

I can't help specifically on the housing, except to say that when I moved here and we needed a short term apartment, I used the web and apartment finder guides.

As for MARTA...check here for full schedules and details. Service starts @ 5am. MARTA - Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority

The weather in Atlanta is mild in the winter and hot in the summer, with a nice spring and fall in between. It can be rainy in March but usually pretty mild (60s or 70s). April is usually quite nice, with temps in the 70s (and 80s by late April).

You'll want to contact promove.com

They're a service many on here have used and they say they're very good at hooking people up with specific housing needs in the area.

1. I also use Atlanta Classifieds alongwith craigslist Atlanta for online resources.

2. No idea

3. As far as I know, it is pleasant, not much snow. Still public transportation should be preferable.
