What should I do…..please help!!! I was clocked by a state trooper with laser radar going 84 in a 55 mph zone (On highway 75 near Mount Paran). My court date is the middle of October and I’m not sure if I should get a lawyer or not which costs around $500? My main goal is to have the ticket reduced to 14 or 15 over so it won’t be reported to my insurance. Some of my driving history: IMPROPER LANE USAGE (08/13/2008), FAILURE TO OBEY SIGNS OR CONTROL DEVICES (06/03/2008), FAILURE TO OBEY STOP SIGN (04/21/2005), SPEEDING (83/65) (03/23/2006). Above is my entire driving record for the past 8 years. If I could get advice from someone who is already a prosecutor to tell me what my chances are looking like to strike a plea the day of my court date that would be great. Is there anything I can do proactively???

Go in and talk to the prosecutor and tell him you want to dispo it with a reduced charge. Most of the time they'll do anything to just get it off the docket, Your history isn't the greatest but if you go to trial the judge will hammer you if you're found guitly. An attorney is still the best way to go.
