Any current advice from locals or those who have visted NYC or ATL.

I posted this thread also in the NYC forum and got some feedback but am interested in receiving feedback from the ATL forum.
I'm not an African-American but I moved back to NYC in 1999 and left two years later. I love NYC but I lived there three times and each time I could only take it for two years at a time. All the things I loved about it: things going on 24 hours a day got on my nerves. (Not to mention the constant honking of horns!!! SHUT-UP!!!!)

Before I moved to NYC I had thought about moving to Atlanta because I had visited a few times and liked it very much. My last thought about NYC before I left was: "I wish I had moved to Atlanta instead." Funny, but I ended-up meeting someone who had a friend in NYC who had said the exact same words a couple of weeks before.

Just another little NYC story...with Atlanta thrown in...

I will need to visit ATL, I haven't yet.
No prob, missy. And if you want a tour guide, let me know. I consider myself an official ATL ambassador, lol . I'll be moving back home at the end of May from New York, and I am soooo ready.

Before moving to NYC or ATL, consider that the HIV rate is even more higher in the south, not that that should be a factor,as I hope by now safe sex practices are the norm for you. Another point to consider is that for a single, professional African-American female, the career opportunities are greater in NYC, even now with the severe economy. There are much, more prospects to meeting a diversified pool of single men in the NYC. Atlanta has a severe shortage of available, single men. All in all in the end have a job before making any move, especially if moving to Atlanta. I've been living in Gwinnett County, Georgia since 2005 and I am a married, A.A female.
