Question for the Candler Park folks -

At the intersection of Clifton Rd and McClendon, just next to the Flying Biscuit there are two small houses located on Clifton next to the Salon, which is behind to the Bisucit. That is - the salon and the two houses are located on Clifton. Both of the houses have been there for a long time and appear to be uninhabited and/or neglected. Right now there is a tree limb sitting on top of one of them. Do any current CP residents know anything about them ? Also how agressively do CP residents manage zoning changes/requests ? Are these two homes candidates for neighborhood commerical interests ?

I know exactly the houses you're talking about. I've wondered about them from time to time. They've been abandoned for as long as I've lived there (3 years) but you can tell that by the way that tree is growing into that one duplex.

Surely someone owns them. Try inputting their address info into the property tax search and see if owner info comes up:

As far as how we manage zoning changes, etc, it seems to me that just about everything seems to go before the CPNO. I don't believe the CPNO has any real power but they can be noisy if they don't like what you're doing and that can have influence. As far as I can tell from the monthly newsletter, though, they don't seem to reject a lot of requests. However, I will admit it's possible they don't report all activity AND that I am not the best source of info...
