'New Park in Kennesaw'>>>>
http://tinyurl.com/3xhdvg (broken link)

I don't know a lot about Kennesaw--north of Marietta, they believe in owning guns, Newt Gingrich, Kennesaw National Batllefield--close to Dobbins AFB and Kennesaw State University.

The area is growing. Non-Hispanic white majority population and there is certainly traffic. It is west Cobb county.

Hmmm...Pro's and Con's of Kennesaw.

Well, they believe highly in gun ownership (if you own in the city you must own a gun), low crime, schools are decent, it's still affordable and not too far from Atlanta, traffic is horrendous (especially Barrett Pkwy), everything looks the same, there is no diversity in shopping (there is a lot of it, it's just all chains).

Kennesaw is a nice place to live. They have some amazingly beautiful subdivisions and good West Cobb schools(Harrison being the best). The is ALOT of shooping and dining choices up there, mostly along Barrett Pkwy. You will never have much of a need to go into Atlanta if you don't work down there(cuts down on gas).

While Kennesaw is starting to diversify, currently it is really white. The white population ranges in class from the backwoods country folk who saw the city grow up around them, to the working class, to the middle and upper middle class. ANYONE can own a home in Kennesaw as they have homes there(including the older homes) starting in the mid 100s and stretching up towards $700,000 to $800,000. It is a very economically diverse city. Because most of the shopping and dining is along Barrett Pkwy, the traffic along that corridor is awful at al times. This includes the weekends as Town Center is a regional mall and attract people from all over the NW Metro area. The schools are good don't dont stack up to East Cobb Schools. While the law says that evey homeowner must own a gun, it is an old law and it is not enforced of course.

Alot of old-time Atlantans live up there mixes in with the northern transplants. And if you are conservative, you will love Kennesaw, as liberal views are not very popular in that city. Church is still huge up there. It will feel more like the old south(outside of Barrett Pkwy.) than the rest of Atlanta does.
