Hi. I need to pick someone up on a Saturday morning at about 7:00 am at the airport. I know the downtown connector work happens on the weekend and I should avoid that. Can someone give an alternative route? I live near Hwy 78 (Stone Mountain Hwy). I'm trying to see how I could go to Camp Creek Parkway, but the maps all want to show me I-85.

Thanks for any help.

Take 285 around to 85 and then take 85 back up to the airport.

Thanks for the speedy reply! You are saying that where 285 meets 85 is beyond the downtown connector point? And that I would catch it and take 85 north to the airport?

The connector splits back into separate 75 and 85 routes about 5 miles north of the airport. To avoid the paving work, you need to go around the outside via 285, which will put you back on 85 a mile or so south of the airport. There may be an exit for the airport directly off of 285 if you're coming in from the east side of town (not really sure- I don't travel that way), but worst case you just take 285 to 85.

Yes, there is an airport exit off of 285, so just take 285 south to the airport.

The exit off of 285 is Camp Creek Parkway - Exit 2 (assuming you are heading west on 285, take a left when you get off the exit and it dumps you right into the airport).

He will becoming from Stone Mountain there will be an exit prior to CampCreek. If I'm not mistaken it will be right before/after Old National. The signs will clearly say airport so it want be a problem finding it.
