Lavista and Briarcliff meet up twice. Which one do you want to know about? They meet at Northlake Mall and in the Emory/Toco Hill area.

Technically, they don't meet up here...Briarcliff meets up with Henderson Mill at the mall; Henderson Mill merges with LaVista a couple of blocks later.
The LaVista/Briarcliff intersection is located on the edge of Atlanta's largest Orthodox community, as well being a short distance from Emory's 'Clifton Corridor' (CDC, hospitals, Emory offices). It is surrounded by desirable neighborhoods, but the retail area around this intersection is rather 'tired' (with the obvious exception of Whole Foods on the SE corner). One of the oldest continuously operating churches in the metro area is on the SW corner (Peachtree Baptist).

Emory Area to be specific... Next to the whole foods store. Would you cosider it moving up or down? Do people have concerns about crime? Should you would you find nice places to eat or socialize in walking distance?
Thanks for all your help.

No, the area is considered quite safe and definitely moving up.
It's not a walking neighborhood by any means; there are good restaurants and other amenities within a short driving distance, however.
The Whole Foods store is always bustling with twenty and thirty somethings (taking advantage of the coffee bar in there)...I'm guessing that the affiliation of most of them is Emory.
This website might interest you...there is a joint initiative between the county, developers and a consulting group to target and offer guidance for responsible development in this area going forward. The county has targeted certain areas that are ripe for high density development...they are trying to anticipate the needed changes in infrastructure before it's too late. The intersection of Briarcliff and LaVista is one of the areas that has been targeted.
