I carpool frequently with my wife and you'll be amazed how easy it is to end up on the HOV lane in the early morning when everything you do is on auto-pilot.... I have to make a conscious effort not to go on the HOV lane every time I am alone in the car.

I have never used the HOV Lane before....and do know what it is. But one day I was running behind got off the HOV Lane exit, did not think that I would get a ticket for that since I was not driving, oh, well, was I wrong. Am glad to hear "gt6974a" said that it does not affect your D.L. or insurance.

There was a safety enforcement officer at the end and he pulled me over and gave me a ticket. Is there a way to get out of this or am I destined to pay the $75.00 dollar fine? Will they reduce the fine at all?
Pay it. No way outta that one.

Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. Seems pretty black and white to me. Don't waste your time or the judge's. Pay the fine and move on.

what do I do if they can't find my HOV lane violation in the system. The automated service can't pull it up and the agent couldn't find it either - searching by violation number and by my name and court date . . . what the heck am I supposed to do?

The original post is from June of '08, and no doubt by now the OP's issue has been solved. It's also one for folks to take up with an attorney for proper legal advice. thanks
