Going down the opposite leg of Atlanta to FL (Pensacola) and I think my best time was just under 4 hrs.
Well, the border would be FL, "specific" or not.

Clarkston's not as scary as all that! In fact, it's a plain, working-class community that takes pride in the community. I moved in three years ago, and I love it. The crime stats were commensurate with Henry County, but the amenities are much better. There's no majority or minority; there's a great dog park, library, and increasingly active community center within walking distance. There isn't a good grocerty store (There are two, but their quality is poor) but the DeKalb Farmers Market is just a bike ride away. I know all my neighbors, and we help each other out. People here keep up their property, for the most part. It was on the upper end of what I could afford (don't believe what they tell you about overpaid university professors!), but I have really enjoyed it. It is convenient to Decatur, to Druid Hills, to pretty much everywhere I go. Mind you, on Memorial it *is* a LOT scary, and there are parts of Indian Creek I stay away from. It isn't posh or polished (neither am I), but it is a good human community.
