If you look at it objectively the ATL is the hands down choice.
Looking at this objectively, there are no hands down choices, but a lot of good quality options. Perhaps, if we knew Amazon's weighting of the criteria, that might give us more insight, but we don't know it.

To get back on subject. Wasn’t Amazon suppose to visit Atlanta at the end of month?

Last week of March was what I thought I read in the article posted earlier. Who knows, maybe they're here right now.

3 months ago I would have said metro Atlanta was in the clear lead for this but now I am beginning to think it will go to Northern Virginia (Metro Washington, DC).. though I do think cost of living and weather is in Atlanta's favor.

I really am not concerned with what Amazon does anymore. At first I thought this would be really great, but I think irregardless Atlanta is really on the rise without Amazon. If Amazon comes in it could cause problems like inflating real estate prices and all the politicians always sucking up to them. Still, 50k jobs is good any way you spin it.

Default Atlanta is currently a beta + city

The thing that is keeping it from regaining alpha - is a large global corporation such as Amazon. The city missed out on the GE sweepstakes which coupled with the presence of Tech could have took the city to the next level, now it can make up for it with Amazon HQ2. Also if it comes to Atlanta and say it locates to the Gulch, all of a sudden it coupled with the over billion dollar mixed used proposal planned for the site again will take the city to another level in terms of entertainment.

While G.E. would have been a nice 'trophy' HQ's to land, there will only be 800 at their new Boston office.

We have thousands of G.E. employees here across several divisions already, and G.E. Transportation is HQ'd here.

Not true! Atlanta is behind NYC and Houston in terms of headquarters in the United States. Alpha cities like London, NYC, and Tokyo have many factors such as fashion, banking, trade, and culture that make them top world cities.

Yeah I am glad the 70's temp are returning, no city can rival Atlanta's beauty when things begin to blossom.
