I prefer to see the glass as half full. We are way ahead of places like Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago, LA and NYC.
If I may ask how in the world do you figure Atlanta is way ahead of Chicago, LA and NYC???

The score was significantly lower.Atlanta's crime is not "significantly" worse than Houston,Dallas,Charlotte,OKC,Nashivlle .Little Rock etc.Nor is its cost of living,

I'd choose Atlanta over Chicago and LA any day. NYC is on a higher level though. LA is basically and expensive run down sprawl. Chicago has some very nice pockets, but is crime ridden, flat and has more ghetto than charm overall.

I love LA weather though. But the suburbs are nicer than the city. I hate Chicago. Awsome food scene but the crime there is on a whole different level than the rest of America. The gangs are so large and connected it's like fighting an army and the police are losing. Plus the weather absolutely sucks. Winters are long and frigid, I've been in May and it was still in the high 40s and 50s with wind chill.

NYC is one of a kind. It's really the only US city that can compete internationally with its rich history, relative safety, diversity, public transit, world class museums and parks, shopping, and some of the world's best restaurants.

And LA and NYC have some of the world's rudest people. Between the 3, I'd probably chose Chicago. Obviously how nice the people are was not one of the factors in putting Atlanta so low.

NYC average temp is actually colder than Chicago in May so dont know what you expereinced but it was not normal. You know you can't say whether is a certain way when you only visit for a short time as we even have weird weather here in Atlanta.
