Dewberry is notorious for holding onto parcels of land.

Again, on one of the premier developable sites in the city, that would be a waste. The Midtown Art walk will serve that purpose.

Considering that we're discussing a city that 1)consistently ranks low relative to its peers in Parkscore rankings, and 2)has in the past had to level existing building stock to remedy this (talk about waste), I will continue to respectfully disagree.

This is also a city that is relatively low density and under-developed for a central city meaning there is AMPLE open land on which to develop more parks. The COST of acquiring the Peachtree property alone would be wasteful of limited public funds.

It also would exacerbate the "dead zone" caused by the Fed being across the street. With Piedmont park being only a few blocks away, using the entire block for a park would be too much.

The fed property includes a greenspace area along 10th, open to the public.

More parks! Perhaps Mr. Dewberry will one day donate this plot to the city for that purpose.

I wouldn't hold your breath. He's holding out for the highest possible use of that land.
