Middle of the pack in taxes, near the bottom in just about every other metric. Not sure if we're really getting our money's worth.

Based on what? The fact that someone who makes even a dollar more than the standard deduction is going to have to pay state income taxes, despite very likely living in poverty? Or the fact that the brackets top off at a whopping $7,000 for those who file singly? And the fact that our Dear Legislature helped secure that ceiling for the uberrich, but no tax relief for the poor? Given all of that, I'd hate to see the regression that occurs in other states ranked lower than us.
