A grocery store in that area would be great.

The article goes on to say that Loudermilk is eyeing Fresh Market or Sprouts Farmers Market for a location along sixth street. Either one would be fine with me although I would prefer Sprouts because it would be its first store in the Atlanta Market. My question is, and I may be wrong but hasn't Daniel or Selig come out in the past and said that a grocer would be in the works for the 12th and Midtown development? Possibly Whole Foods? I also think there needs to another non-specialty grocer like Kroger, Aldi to move in this area to compete with Publix, especially since the Kroger in Brookwood is long gone.

Totally agree about an Aldi or Kroger coming into the area...

Awesome idea. The small Publix on 9th will need some relief from the flood of apartments in Midtown.

While I would welcome an Aldi's to the neighborhood and would go there I know it is not the demographic for Midtown and not the type of location they would target even though they are expanding rapidly. Sounds like nothing is bound to happen soon regarding a grocery though.

Aldi is already in that general area as they have a location off of Moreland not far from Grant Park.

Kroger would probably be the best brand name store for this.

On a side note what happened to that organic store from Birmingham?

Sounds good to me, I wonder how Aldi would view it though. From my home in midtown they already have 1 store within 5 miles and 5 stores within 10 miles. But a well positioned store drawing on a good base of low to mid income residents i am sure would do well.
