I am in my 20's, married with a 2 year kid and a dog, I am looking for a nice 2 to 3 bedroom apartment in Cobb County, my budget is $1200 a month for rent. Any suggestions?

At that price range you should have lots of options. I am not current on the apartment rental market but Gables is one of the large developments. You might want to consider a townhome as well. My neighbor has a 2 bedroom in Smyrna just north of Vinings that rents for 1250

Check out Madison Vinings Ridge off of Cumberland Pkwy. I lived there for three years when it was owned by Post Properties. It's in a great location right off of I-75 and the property was well maintained.

I lived there in the late 1980's, earl 1990's when it was owned by Post. Great location don't know if they have kept up with renovations.

In the early 1980's that area was THE place to be if you were single in the area. My understanding is there used to be a 2 year waiting list to get into that neighborhood (this was during the boom of Atlanta growth). The apartments along Akers Mill just around the corner is where there were tons of professional athletes.

I have been inside of the District at Vinings apartments and they are pretty nice. I know of some people that are pleased with the current Post Properties in the area as well

I lived in the Columns off of Akers Mill for a few years and I loved it. I had a 2 bed and they do allow pets. It is very close to Cumberland Mall.

Friends are asking this same question and I thought I'd revive this post to hear about whether there are any 2 bedrooms that anyone would recommend in Vinings. Budget is 1200. One kid (3) but no pets.

Note: They are looking to be near the downtown Vinings area (walking distance) so they are not interested in nice apartments in Smyrna - only in Vinings.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Vinings does not have a "downtown" although the center of the area is considered the Villae Square Shopping. There are VERY limited options within walking distance of that area.

Thanks Tonygeorgia and Lorilove. I'll pass this information on.
Lorilove, I indicated "downtown" but what they mean is the portion of Vinings near Vinings Jubilee and the restaurants in that area near Paces Ferry Road. Is that the Village Square Shopping area?
If someone wanted to be close to that area, are there other options that are near but not in walking distance?
For them, it is important to be on that side of 285 near the stores and restaurants.
