Publix has better Rotisserie chicken than Kroger's. Kroger's Rotisserie chicken tends to be soggy & lacking in decent spices from my experience.
...
That's my take on the whole Publix vs. Kroger experience.
Kroger rotisserie chicken used to be excellent. But as you observed, I don't buy it anymore. Guess they cut back on the quality thinking they could improve the profit margin.
I love it when I click on the "last page" link for a thread about taxes on internet sales and I see a discussion of rotisserie chicken quality at local grocery stores!
So I am a little confused. It sounds like Amazon is not going to start collecting taxes. Are they just going to fight this in court? Or does this bill not apply to them?

I'm not really sweating it too much since their products will still be cheaper. I just bought a car wash set from Armor All with a gallon of car wash, wax, tire shine, drying towels, a mitt, bucket, rainX for the windows, window wipes, and a mini car vacuum for $44. In a store that would've easily been $75+ worth of stuff. So going from $44 to $47.52 isn't exactly going to make me to pick it up in Walmart instead.
'Bout time. Now the playing field is closer to being level again for local businesses.
Local businesses such as Wal-Mart and Target or local businesses like Best Buy and Bed, Bath & Beyond?
While there are niche exceptions, local retail is dead. Big box stores killed them off long before Amazon came on the scene. Services, non-fast food restaurants, and experiences are the main things left that are local. Adding sales tax will be good for the big box chains and to a lesser extent, grocery store chains, but mom and pop businesses aren't going to suddenly reappear because Amazon has to add on a single digit sales tax.

I didn't say they'd be saved. I said, the playing field will be closer to level again.

It really won't lol. Amazon will still have much better prices. As long as they have prime with free shipping I doubt they'll lose much if any business to mom & pop stores at all. And with Amazon automating a lot of their warehouses they'll be able to lower their prices even more. Unless mom & pop stores figure out a way to sell their product without needing a brick and mortar store they're still majorly behind the 8ball.

It closes the gap 8%. That seems pretty significant to me. Add in the Prime membership fee spaced out of each shipment and it starts to get close unless you are using Amazon for a very high number of orders. Will you be able to get items cheaper online, sure, but a nearly 10% gap has been closed.
I'm not sure what is worthy of laughing out loud over.. but whatever you say.
